Caught in the storm

Lured from tree house
Hiding places
Secure warm
From tiny throne

Leading loyal ones
To the next home
Caught in a storm
Taken down
As one

She is queen
Her word is won
Workers lives
Depend upon

Sudden storm
Mass extinction
Regret moving
Even mentioned

For one that brings
Our hearts attention
This day such loss
Is worth a mention

The one who mistook

Their wife for a hat
A child for a cat
A lover for a bat
A friend for a mat

Sensibilities
Surrounded by
Seratonin
Someday fades

Why not instead
See streets of gold
Homes of gingerbread
Chocolate rivers

Smooth sailing comes
When you find your crew
Will you take me
As I am?

Strange fruit

Know them
By their fruit
They say
Pulling faces
Wind will change
When it does
We wonder why
Young lives lost
Hide deny
If every one
Unrealised love
Why then some
Love undone?
Jousting words
Soft as soap
Twist of knife
Antidote?
To love unmeasured
Uncontained
Boundless free
Love makes a way

Unspoken pain

Unspoken pain
Furls the brow
Like tectonic plates
Left and right brain
Colliding

Tears and words
Flooding rain
Eroding sharp precipice
Smoothing softening
Cascading

Deep richness
Exposed openly
Filtering through
Luscious soil
Creating

Love like

A blossom tree
Budding growing
Willing knowing
Instinctively
When warmth
Comes upon
The breeze
Still sudden
Frosts sleet
Winds beat
Against tender
Shoots and leaves
Making parade
Confetti admire
For a day
Blown away
Too few fruit
For feathered
Friends greet
Instead reside
In cool shade
Till we meet
And bloom again
At winter's end
Cherry blossom

The impossible girl

Seven score and fifteen
Since the day
Dared to reclaim
Blindfold fell away

The world is a scarier place
Yet wide, vast as the sky
When pulling opinions
Down from on high

Meeting all the faces
Damp lit street and dark
Being one with them
Hitting the mark

All the things refrain
Are real for us
All of life
Abounds in us

Are we alone
Divided by love
Of mythical tree
A new year's eve

Glorious garden grows
Its beauty renewed
Breathtaking view
for Lili

Bravehearts

In the land of Oz
I've walked these streets
Paved with gold
Priceless wares

Federation facades
Heritage shades
Inked pinked bodies
Stand out boldly

A heart grows fearless
Sitting in places
Undeserving spaces
Unfamiliar faces

Speaking into the chasm
People's lives unfolding
In one moment
Tones waves uniting

That heroic soul
So rare and pure
Timid and unsure
Held open the door

Overcoming

Air thickens
Time fades
Breath holds
Sounds evaporate
Sight blinds
Mind wanders
Tongue loosens
Sense undone
Heart won
Compass spun
Cheeks tighten
Shoulders sigh
Smile resides
Inviting
Being lightening
Just arriving
Passing through
With you
