Like Constable's brush strokes
Cool and clear
Unreal like a picture
In a coffee table book
Changing heavens above
A palette full spectrum
Twisting like end of day
Dibs and dabs before
Night fades to black
Why I sit inside
Mesmerised
By just one
Snapshot in time?
Grand gestures
A strange kind of opulence
Tucked away behind
Concrete walls
Only to be enjoyed
By the blessed few
Who die too soon
To enjoy it
Don’t try

The blinds on night sky
As new dawn breaks
No need to ferry clouds
Into silver lined
Pockets on pyjamas
While dreams dissipate
Fruitless picking
Strawberry fields
Wandering eyes
In the darkness
Simply pose salutation
As ever-revolving sun
Rises far beyond
Never found
Write my name in sparklers
In the dark
Hang ancient treasures
Round my neck and yours
Half and half
Hold my hand candlit

Escape the cacophony
Flocks, herds and hives
Filling mind abuzz
