Shore

I've never left hibernation
All but a short stroll
Around the garden
To vacate my cave
Return to ocean
Plunge deep into her senses
Cool relief
I imagine it daily
Breaking the surface
Would look like
Reaching out both arms
Holding her close to me
Kissing her forehead
Hand on her cheek
The full force of waves
Impacting me
With that smile
Just inches away
Rocking me to the core
Over and over again
In rhythm with moon
Wax and wane
For as long as forever
Remains
Goat Beach, South Arm, Tasmania

Love like

A massage
Smoothing over
All hard places
Flooding in
Joints and sinew
Touching pain
Bringing healing
Warm movement
Entering in
Tentatively
Slow moving statue
Rising up again
Brought to life
Ready for anything

Swell

Love as many as you will
As long as rising sun
Guides you
Even the ocean has bounds
Its depths seem endless
Its limits rest on sand
Force of waves dance
Expectantly
Why wait on shore
To dive
Come on in
With me you will always
Have a hand to hold
Through riptide spin
No treasure find
Empty shells
Shine on mantle sill
Most glorious gems
Revealed between
Two smiles facing
Our tides move quickly
Back and forth
Silently
Though swell and surge
Nourishing daily
Its limits sketched
In seagrass on gentle
Slopes of sandy canvas
Moving ever closer
Going forward
Tasman Bridge, nipaluna / Hobart, lutruwita / Tasmania.

Some one

Some one who
Held trust could
Hold space
Some one who
Cared less could
Be silent
Many words could
Shed light
In the darkness
Seeking acceptance
Darkness is only
Absence
Without these words
My love is silent
Empty, without substance
Without your presence
In my world
There is nothing left
But word filled space
On empty page
A solo act
No accolades
Another day
Of waking thoughts
Wandering lost
No tune with yours

Hearth stone

Are you guarded
Do you tread lightly?
Would you rather fly
Than be grounded
Forever seeking freedom
Are there threads
Caught between you
Lovers never left behind
Ripples gather round
Only light cast for miles
To reflect beauty
To passersby
Are you high above?
I burn below slowly
Keep heavy hearth stone
Warm if ever you might
Land beside me

Spectacle

If one can find the doorway
That leads into the zone
Where friendships rise
Past loves hide
No one's on their own
Invite as many people
In your life
As it could hold
Keep the journey secret
Don't tell them where it goes
In a quiet corner there
I'll watch the spectacle
With joy and jubilation
To bring life into my home

Lights out

Lights out
Across treelined
Contour lines
Iridescence glow
Whites of eyes
No TV screen
Pins of light come out
Across sky canopy ceiling
Hands slip round sides
Holding gently sigh
Head falls forward
Cradled in nape
My nightly escape
Panorama backlit
By swell of moonrise
Stage is ours alone
Close your eyes
We are home
