Just a little bit

Why we apply to our persons
These analogies of nature
As I pluck the expired flowers
And spotted leaves
In the midday sun
In my pyjamas
Don't they produce
With time sun rain
The most delicious
Rosehip tea?
But I comply with
Expectations
To make the neighbourhood
Beauty increase
With bright blooms
Swaying on the warm breeze
For people to remark upon
Or else consider
Their most natural state
Caused by neglect
When we glance at things
Both consider the seed
From whence it came
Somewhere like loving hands
Or soles of feet
A birds belly
We gaze upon living things
Nourishment from above
Though call the source
Different things
All knowing we each
Desire respect and love

Sweetness

In the sweet bye and bye
Everyday entreat
Hourly mystique
Receive a gentle word
You heard last week
The call of song
Echoing through trees
Tiny drops of dew
Swaying on leaves
Neither force of nature
Or crowd to please
Could take away
The sweetness of being
Here in the present
Surrounded by good things
Inspired by the love
Of good friends
Like a butterfly sanctuary
Remembering how to keep
Love safe and free
Keeping her memory
With me

Not what matters

Where I live
Where I work
How I speak
Free time perks

How much time
On my hands
How I went
Travelling lands

Who my friends
Like to be
What I drink
Films I see

How I look
What I wear
Whether lippie
Or some flares

Punch drunk
Over jab
Wiping tables
Keeping tabs

All I want
Is to be
In love
With you

In love by morning

On the turning away
Entering into void
Sideless convex slope
Taking you down
Into space

Ejecting lifeless forms
Breathless pressure
Tender organs
Enveloped in atmosphere
Another world

Return to firmness
Cheek against ground
Gasped as one
Breathing their first
Looking around

Chrystal clear light
Shines all about
Reflections eyes
Smiling down
Speaking softly

Taking my arm
Astounded
Leading by hand
Counting my minutes
Since landing
Jewel bug (Choerocoris paganus) nymphs hatching

Market treat

To look upon her
Middle of the street
Dancing feet in flip flops
Cotton slung over shoulder
Carrying the weight
Of next week's movies
Breakfast treat

Colours and lines dance
In front of eyes
Stallholders parade
Eyes watching me
Rainbow carrots
Pink lemonade
Waiting next Saturday
For one more take
Twist of tongue
Pull of cheek

Humankind kindred
Lay eyes on
Every hour
Another week
In case of
Isolation
Raise a glass
To me

It’s a little bit funny

Ethical nature
To draw one out
Protect from predators
When they hide
On the inside
Under rocks
Not out open

How easy to mistake
To mimic a threat
For safety
But scare away
Own mate

Funny how I know
When I decide to
Stop chasing
With words
That'll be the day
You turn around
In the heavy silence
Between us
Where only smiles
Are found
