Orchid eye

At last, hope all but declined
To fill the void and vacant mind
Unthinkingly returned to find
Her soft response - as silk - sublime

Flesh of petal, down of breeze
Float respondent, clasped with ease
A moment rendered skips repeat
Upon the joy bells fringe appease

Wavering as the hooded green
Time was all a seasoned dream
Though orchid eyes all summer roam
Abiding sight I've never known
Caleana major, large flying duck orchid, lutruwita / Tasmania

Dans la nuit

To know
Without a shadow
of guilt, shame, doubt
though trite it may sound
A flash of mind
Last seen 6 hours ago

To know
With all lightness
Inside
If one green bottle
on the wall should fall
the first would be me

To know
Moving from object
Gazed upon
To glitter, shards, splinters
Dangerous to bare feet
Closer to original form

To remember
squeal of soles
on soft mounds
covet seabird treasures
safely keep
Waves eternally rise
to greet me

To recall
Dans la nuit
White caps peeps through
seam of dimness
winter solstice
breathe in out rush
tides and lungs
repeat

silver lines

the new day met with constance
brazen she lay dreamily on downy pillow
proudly upon cirrus swish dreams
the weight of which pull lids deep

silken chords holding fast
basket below - up, up here we go!
ascending into senselessness
where memories roam on winds of warning

navigate desires like gusts taste of charcoal
cumulonimbus delay dawn's yearning
holding down gutless wondering
there she blows - hapless western wilds

combing fingers through silvery foam
capped on copper waves a lover's style
ancient language writhes under smiling eyes
wordless nod at time-worn heave of heart space

a fresh face crinkled by sharp cravings
admiring the anatomy of our youth
decades passing through all shades of blue
as if survived Antarctic

but no
we each to each
full of lyric, latin and lustful libre
boast of bodily heat returned to keep

Weather with you

Some loves are like a sea
salty touch chill to the skin
blissful diving in
on the fringe waves of grief
crash upon disheveled shores
tumbling in weeds
flotsam and jetsam

Some loves are a range
of mountains and hills
traverse through blinding
snow and wind
sudden change
dappled sun kisses
closed eyes before
hides behind peaks
searching caves within

Some loves are like a cloud
begging me - look up!
enamored by the majesty
of sky mirrored by our
smiles and glances
once dark and stormy sea
takes on new beauty
because of thee

Evanescence

Is it always so enchanting
From your point of view?
Shining smilingly
Above the rooftops
Is the water's skin
Shivering under your gaze
Like I used to
Baroque soundwaves
Fill my ears
A detour from wayward
Straight lines
Gone haywire
I take the backbends
Winding by yesteryears
When the moon revolved
Around us

Dearest self

You remind me of
A younger self
Uninhibited
Open the door
At your touch
The bolt falters
Windows to my soul
Lit magnificent colours
Upon grand entrance
Into my world
Take me back
To a time when time
Was unmeasured
Lost in sublime
Hours of hopeful truth
Seamless rewriting
Darning old memories
Luminous awakenings
Love heals all wounds

A poignant question

A poignant question
Posed to me by me
By mark of time
Who would love
Such one as I
Indiscriminately
Mine?
The notion begged
Ten thousand words
Just to describe
Such question
Then eighty thousand
More to write
Each possible retort
Once most likely
Hypothetical
Option I could find
At least another
Twenty thousand
Words crept through
My mind
Not until the warmth
Of one enamoured
By my side
To find stillness
Just to rest
These lips
Speechless
On mine
