Time lapse

Silvery white and grey
Blanket of down
Above me
Puffs of cloud
Stationary
Not looming
Cocooning
City scurrying
Beneath
Time lapse
Of tears shed
By morning
Endless spiral
Upwards
Of anticipation
Elation and goodbye
Suddenly falling
Into realisation
The sky of mind
Turns gray
Shades of it
Dark yet illuminating
A serene delight
Slow moving picture
Time lapse photography
Of memories
Captured for only
A moment
Every time
You walk away

Living hope

Time to grow
Time to fade
Feelings like flowers
Let me elucidate
A green landscape
Peppered with potential
An open heart willing
To be known and loved
Scattering of seeds
Planting of breeze
Intentionality
Some buried by bird
Fly by or high wire
No matter the arrival
In style or shy
Perrenial or constant
Populated first
Or exotic arrival
All living thoughts
And buried hopes
Are retained in soil
Of treasured memories
Forever to promote
New growth for next
Generation
Time to grow
Time to fade
Their worth
Never erased

This old love

All things an old growth love will do
Give shelter from driving winds
Hail and smothering snow
Hide a sapling in the shade and force it up on show
Insubstantial frame
Prone to bend, bleed and burn
Undiscerning firestorm
One in one hundred flood
Innocent marsupials breeding
Forest elder tends young
The canopy maturing
Channeling the pure sweet rain
Into tendrils for feeding
Look up wonder and observe
Generations time laid bare
Tender skin of wood
Precious to the earth
And all our cares

Lights out

Lights out
Across treelined
Contour lines
Iridescence glow
Whites of eyes
No TV screen
Pins of light come out
Across sky canopy ceiling
Hands slip round sides
Holding gently sigh
Head falls forward
Cradled in nape
My nightly escape
Panorama backlit
By swell of moonrise
Stage is ours alone
Close your eyes
We are home

A better lover

Wind teases hair
Mercilessly
Discards garments
Disheveled
On the ground
Sprawling helpless
Disperses seeds
Far and wide
Like long lost family

Until sun's rays coax
Out of hiding
Bask in her glow
Only know how deeply
Gratitude can grow
After feeling how chill
To miss you

Falling softly

Heart wants what it wants
Wide open mouth
River swallowed by the sea
Jaw falls open gaping
As head inclines
Leafy fingers entwine
Above me holding canopy
Sun winks through
Dappled blinds
Wondering what you'd say
Standing next to me
Whispers imaginary
As the hush of waves
Soothes the craving
Cliffs falling in
Finally retired
To lie on soft bed
Far beneath
