Waking dawn

Gazing out your window
To where canvas of stars
Meets the horizon
Lured into your web
Of dreams and fairytales
I awake, frozen in time
Left in my own cave
Nothing but dreamscapes
To claim for my own
As if shutters were closed
On the biting frost
When all it was
Our waking dawn

Me or you

Must I really choose?
I'd hoped for both
But I got the blues
Stories and sonnets
Don't say enough
Silence and sidelines
Say all too much
Simple it seems
To listening ears
I choose me over you
For the rest of my years
