I see you
Close my eyes to dream
Count the stars

I see you
Close my eyes to dream
Count the stars

Poetry
A kind of torture
By Vogons

Ever revealing dream
To hold in my arms
Sweetness of the maker
In her peaceful slumber
She is irresistible
Smiles willingly
At my entrancement
Holds tightly to
Newborn revelation
My gift to nurture
Upon waking, momentarily
Snuff out feeble flame
Hopes and aspirations
Borne out of longing
Loneliness deprivation
Old growth affection
Survives years unknown
Wild rampaging fires
Simply to fall, hollow
All on its own
To graciously make way
For new life

I want to know you
All the ways you're beautiful
From the inside out

Jill of all trades
Lifesaver, dawn breaker
Pool pacer
Hearth watcher
Ball catcher
Friend to hidden
Worlds unknown
Just debator
Navigator
Peacemaker
Unveil hidden
Latent potential
Me first
Then you

There's no greater grief
Than the love that was never
Allowed to be freed

I know now with clarity
That looking back affords
How beautiful the night
When I wanted to be yours
I know now with certainty
Chain reaction of emotion
Catapults my life
Beyond debris of an explosion
I know now with compassion
The path laid out behind
A shared choice for us
Out of love for our kind
I know with creativity
The pictures in my mind
Painted with colours of
Courage you helped me find
I know now with confidence
The downpour from above
Came not from vulnerability
A rare brush with real love

Barely recovered
Just one glass
Sparked a flame
Wild rampaging
When you walked
Away
Strangely tended
Just one face
Lingers all night
Soothed, tamed
Falling rains
Stay

She worships the sea
Sacred rituals on
Tepid tide
Sunday mornings
While I hide
Under cover
Worshipping
Its maker for
The very heart
Of her

Only time can elucidate
The depth of blue
Storms dissipate
Pulling confused debris
Out to sea
Endless treasures beneath
Though not a coin
Exchanged
No ill-gotten gain
Wilderness reserve
Sustained our futures' sake
Fables, myths and legends
Barely touch the surface
Canon of heartfelt
Love in its place
Delivered in waves
Washed ashore
Upon fate's call
We might meet
In this place
First, dip the toe
Wade to rocky outcrop
Float to surface
Let the affect
Carry you away
A bond ever-giving
Calling me to stay
