Water lily blooms Languidly laze on surface Abuzz sunlit show

Downy white hairs Kissing your cheek Lines hugging face Curves cling to waist My eyes wrap round Your whole being Love who you are In every possible way A painter poised Dips nib on palette Tenderly caresses Curves and shades From whispers To grand gestures Silence fills blank space What's left unsaid Presence like a guest Stepping backwards Canvas a kaleidoscope Never erased

Grace me your presence
I'll show gratitude
With woven keepsakes
Letters penned with
Nervous fingers
Eyes squinting through
Brave smiles
Tinged with tears
Their worth on earth
Insignificant
Compared to the hours
Spent deliberating
From conception
To delivery
So many gifts
Not borne
Out of propriety
Cakes pretending to be
Bouquets of flowers
Dates quiet candle lit
Bars of mirrors
Flowing golden liquid
In glass walled shrines
Escaping the haste
To a yellow cottage
On the coast
With nothing but
A bottle, a book
And ourselves
Dreams that teach me
Who I am
To be

I'll be your mountain
You be my sea
For all onlookers
We are divided
On the beaches
But really
I fall
At your feet

If only I could live
On native cherries
Bugs and berries
Tuned in to singing
Of sapling gums
Swinging in the wind
Timed by sun rise
And setting
Days stretch out
And snap back
Catapult us
Through our lives
Never counting cost
Not all who wander
Are lost

Finest ink bleeds in time with percussive beats
Knowing well each drop more precious than gold
Unlike the burst of black cloud shrouding fear
Tentacles shooting across infested waters
Knowing where to find the spark for perpetuity
A lifeline in veins of penned prose
Splayed in restless phrases seeking
To be absorbed by stark gaze
On the pure chance her and I might be the same
Apart from desire to pour presence into silence
Stand fast like a tidal wall as passing rush
Tsunami crawls back to capacious sea
Entranced with affect, she pours into me veritable
Encyclopedia of past dreams evading dust of settling
Vain hopefulness turns weather crow 'round
Conjuring up necessary resistance to passing storms
Time together a transfusion
A love that keeps you warm
Mine is a joy of colour
Burned in my brain
So brightly borne
On night forlorn
I hardy seem the same
A name so entrancing
It fair evades the jest
The sound of it
Steeps pride within
Its brush long stood the test
Spent many a day observing
The detail in its grain
To widen gaze
A spellbound daze
Defies grande window pane
Blue as the sky opens, timely
Cool as the vast southern sea
Ancient creatures
Surely teach us
How humans ought to be
Wise as blue whale roaming
Fear kraken, now mythical beast
When power and lust
Turn forests to dust
Here be dragons, man unleashed

The Painted Lady
Saved me today
Escaping cool
Shot of adrenalin
Disturbing a ray
We acquainted
Under waves
Turned tail
Nodded shyly
Red billed spy
From rooftop
Provoked a smile
Chirpy chatter
Sailing treetops
Remind me
What truly matters

Oh, what perpetual state of bliss
To go back to that time and place
To relive moments again
Not just in the mind
When we might have had
A chance

A silken trail of glitter
I spy her familial face
Standing boards gliding
Peace invades the haste
