A fragile shell
Exuding warmth
Breathing bodies
Wrapping wool
With love
A beating heart
Releasing beats
Pulsing life
Animate limbs
With joy
A shared presence
Sending thoughts
Creating ease
Illustrate life
With peace
A willing friend
Meeting smiles
Sharing trials
Accepting unseen
With me
Under the surface
Hidden work
Brooding keeping
Leading
Gliding above
Racing surf
Riding meeting
Retreating
Never between
Shall they meet
Till keel swills
Around furious feet
Smooth sailing
So it seems
To fear loss
While never
Yours to begin
Love dwells
Within
Where can I go
To follow
In your footsteps?
To wander
In your stead
All dressed up
To go nowhere
In particular
Lucid dreaming
Takes me somewhere
Far off
Still the sky
Covers us all
Until nightfall
We deconstruct
Consuming warmth
To stay our idleness
To stoke the fire
Inside and out
To tell you
How much
Is enough
With Love
Unseen world
Eludes me
Trapped beneath
Beautiful skin
Feeling like
Sinking in
To seek
Worlds beneath
Yet cannot
Touch
Is rough
Skin we're in
Ground control
Lost comms
Suspended bodies
Hearts and minds
Floating freely
Animated at last
By the touch
Of another soul
In space
Missing love
But alive
Admiring the view
From above
Longing to feel
Earth beneath
Weight of gravity
Between us
There is life
Inner space
Good love
gives life
Eyes to see
Ears to hear
Lips to taste
Sense to feel
Singing with
Heart strings
Mind mementos
World demanding
Attend to pain
Universe expanding
Growing again
Longing to witness
Presence within
Love is always
A gift
To give
Birds are not aggressive creatures, they bring beauty into the world.
We are all pockmarked by the scars of things that should have been otherwise, the way the moon bears the craters of collisions in space that it could do nothing to avoid.
My Year of Living Vulnerably, Rick Morton
