Our body is not our own
Put on display
For even me
To admire

Statues of iron clad
Armour to deflect
Passing comment
Carrying light

Though many rooms
Filled with iron bars
Temples to lay down
Our wanton desires

Pass by crowded rooms
By night vacated
Staring at screens
Music blaring in ears

To happen upon
Empty streets
Dogs walking owners
Offerings under feet

Though many rooms
Filled with crowded bars
Goggles bottom of glass
Light in dark places

Scales fall from eyes
No shape, word or smile
Can evade the simple
Truth be told of her

Only what matters
Not behind glass
Or resting on bars
Unseen by my eyes

Love like

An apple tree
Years taking hold
Establishing
Slower than grass
Don't watch me
All on its own

Four years old
Blossoms increasing
Anxiety held
Storm and frost
Melt gentle petal
Before full grown

Five years since
First taking root
Fruit begins
Ripens in the sun
Hoping no bug
Disease or bird
Steals away

One day when strong
Full fruit display
Reddens in the sun
Twist and pull
The most delicate
Fruit spoken of
Since legends told

As a daily apple girl
It keeps me well
Delight always held
As I polish skin
On my chest and
Sink in

One year or two
There may be no fruit
If pruned too hard
Or left untended
Another year closer
To harvest end
Enjoy while we can

Time lapse

Silvery white and grey
Blanket of down
Above me
Puffs of cloud
Stationary
Not looming
Cocooning
City scurrying
Beneath
Time lapse
Of tears shed
By morning
Endless spiral
Upwards
Of anticipation
Elation and goodbye
Suddenly falling
Into realisation
The sky of mind
Turns gray
Shades of it
Dark yet illuminating
A serene delight
Slow moving picture
Time lapse photography
Of memories
Captured for only
A moment
Every time
You walk away

Swell

Love as many as you will
As long as rising sun
Guides you
Even the ocean has bounds
Its depths seem endless
Its limits rest on sand
Force of waves dance
Expectantly
Why wait on shore
To dive
Come on in
With me you will always
Have a hand to hold
Through riptide spin
No treasure find
Empty shells
Shine on mantle sill
Most glorious gems
Revealed between
Two smiles facing
Our tides move quickly
Back and forth
Silently
Though swell and surge
Nourishing daily
Its limits sketched
In seagrass on gentle
Slopes of sandy canvas
Moving ever closer
Going forward

Hearth stone

Are you guarded
Do you tread lightly?
Would you rather fly
Than be grounded
Forever seeking freedom
Are there threads
Caught between you
Lovers never left behind
Ripples gather round
Only light cast for miles
To reflect beauty
To passersby
Are you high above?
I burn below slowly
Keep heavy hearth stone
Warm if ever you might
Land beside me

Love like

A run away thought train

I feel like a planet falling into a black hole around you. In a good way. Swallowed up by gravity. It flattens me. I submit to it.

Your smile when you look at me is the most beautiful thing I ever saw.

Only to hear you talk so I can press record in my mind and have something to replay on the gray days of my life.

I give you my best thoughts and that is like an eternal hand holding.

Love like

Two sides of one heart
One taking me in
Another letting me go
Rejuvenating
Sending life flowing
All around me
Until day is spent
Finding its way
Her chamber open
Receiving all of me
To be revived
Then sent out
Once again
Syncopating rhythm
Inside of me
A divide between
Echo in my ears
Both loves beat
As long as I live
