Our body is not our own
Put on display
For even me
To admire
Statues of iron clad
Armour to deflect
Passing comment
Carrying light
Though many rooms
Filled with iron bars
Temples to lay down
Our wanton desires
Pass by crowded rooms
By night vacated
Staring at screens
Music blaring in ears
To happen upon
Empty streets
Dogs walking owners
Offerings under feet
Though many rooms
Filled with crowded bars
Goggles bottom of glass
Light in dark places
Scales fall from eyes
No shape, word or smile
Can evade the simple
Truth be told of her
Only what matters
Not behind glass
Or resting on bars
Unseen by my eyes
