She's not here
Not bodily form
Her clock stopped
It's all wrong
In our eyes, ears, heart, memories...
She lives
If she could speak
Would she agree
Would she approve
Of me?

This too shall pass

Don't give it all away
Save yourself for later

'Remember that you must live'

Don't let another minute go by
Thoughts of you
Fill my days and nights
A peace, a smile
A laugh, a cry
The pain is pleasurable to the naked eye
Though a hunger grows inside
There is no other way to win
But to give in

Therein a deep hushed tone I know
A wisdom note sings
When she speaks to me
Something needed, warned and heeded
Underlining it
Take note, it rolls round
In my mind for a time
-Floating in the night air like a firebug on a tropical breeze
Teasing my attention from stares and slowing streams
All the daily races
Flit and float-
Until the moment when I grasp it joyfully
Cures for ills
Stomach for thrills
Food for thought
None have taught
Sound for silence
A boat for my island

Waiting makes space
For creative spark
To fan and flame
Give off light and heat
To frozen hands
Weary feet
Drenched habit
Vital retreat
A tender corner of the world
Inhabited by lovers and caregivers
Giving out of lack
Receiving their own back
A golden hue and fiery brew
Embarking on journeys
Such as this
Magnetic pulse pointing
Spinning like crazy
At the turn of a hand
Avoid touching land
Fog blares a sounding
Passage horizon hazy
Whispers, screaming
Go slow.
Twenty knot limit
Cross the bight
Twenty two miles
Following seas
Missed the turn
Secured to shore
Held by wild hands
Van Dieman's Land
To fair winds
Flooding rains
Mistress lack
Wives turn back
Willing friends
Ragged mountains
Carved centuries
Paid in threes
Marriage of land and sea
